
The Investigation Department of the Ministry of Finance has arrested an organized crime gang suspected of issuing and selling counterfeit diplomas and certificates.
According to the investigation, pro-rector of the Caucasian Humanitarian University, Nunu Sikharulidze and the assistant dean, Patima Mamedov, their allies, Russian citizen Mubariz Garibov, Georgian citizen Tofik Akhmedov, are suspected of illegal activities.
According to the primary investigation, the suspects issued forged certificate of secondary education and then the forged graduation diploma of the Caucasian Humanitarian University. For both documents, they were going to take 3,300-dollar bribe. The officers detained them as they were taking the bribe. (“Rustavi2”)
