Labour Party of Georgia objects to the decision of the government to move the Constitutional Court from the capital to Batumi. Giorgi Gugava of the party said the president moved the court from Tbilisi to Batumi in order to make it a subordinate body and weaken it.
The opposition party pledges to do its best to return the court to the capital after Saakashvili`s term expires.
`Since Saakashvili made this court his subordinate body and moved it to Batumi, the court has turned into an invalid shelter of slave judges, who serve Saakashvili but not the country. We promise to return the constitutional court back to the people`s service after Saakashvili`s regime is changed,` Giorgi Gugava said. (“Rustavi2”)
